Barbara Jean Yoakam

age 74, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021. Barbara devoted her life to family, friends, and charity. She applied her talents to researching genealogies, sewing, knitting, and crocheting; always gifting the products of those efforts to her family, many friends, and those in need throughout the Community. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone she met. She was a congregant of Christian Assembly in Jackson, MI. Her parents Clarence and Edna Yoakam preceded her in death. Her six siblings Marjorie Sandoval, Shirley Lange, Joan Mills, Edward Yoakam, Evelyn Jonas, and Patricia Gaskamp; three sons Terry Lee Vandermark Jr., Shon Kennedy Vandermark and wife Diana, and Kreston D Vandermark and wife Jennifer; five grandchildren, and countless cousins, nieces and nephews survive her. Per Barbara's wishes, her remains were donated to the University of Michigan Medical School and will be interned at the University of Michigan Memorial Cemetery. The family will host an informal time of remembrance for friends and family from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, July 24, 2021, at Spring Arbor Church of the Nazarene, 8200 King Rd, Spring Arbor, MI. The family would like to express our thanks to the devoted care provided by the staff of Arbor Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center as well as to the medical staff of the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital.
