Walker, Barbara Ann
Age 90, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in Jackson, surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born in Jackson, Michigan to Louis and Anna (Birch) Pennington on May 22, 1931. She graduated from St. John's High School in 1950. She married the late Charles Walker in 1955 and their union was blessed with three children, Terry, Scott, and Cheryl. Barbara worked at Spartan Electronics from 1951 until her retirement in 1996. After her retirement, she embarked on a second career with Home Instead Healthcare, from which she retired in 2017. Barbara was a lifelong parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
In addition to spending a great deal of time with her family, especially enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren's many activities, she also loved music of all types as well as arts and crafts. In addition, Barbara was an avid gardener.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Walker; her parents, Louis and Anna Pennington; her brother, Harold Pennington; and beloved son-in-law, Ken Coffelt.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Terry Walker (Cherry), Scott Walker, and Cheryl Coffelt (Ken). She also leaves to cherish her memory, grandchildren, Josh Clamon (Crystal), Todd Clamon, Kelly Walker, Derek Walker (Alexis), Kelby Coffelt (Amanda), Kalen Coffelt (Arianna); and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Lily Clamon, Nolen, Natalie, and Ellie Coffelt and Cohen Walker.
Barbara left a beautiful legacy of service to others, boundless energy, and unconditional love. Her love and sacrifice were a testament to her faith and commitment to her Savior.
According to Barbara's wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 711 Martin Luther King Drive in Jackson, with Father James Shaver officiating.
The family will receive friends at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Monday, April 11, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
The family asks that monetary donations be directed to Andy's Angels in Jackson or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
