Rumler, Barbara Jean
In loving memory of our mother, who passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Born Barbara Jean Herman on October 24, 1927 to Andrew and Carolyn Herman. "Jean" as she was known to family and friends grew up in Vandercook Lake. After graduating she worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Co. until her marriage to William "Bill" Rumler in 1948. Jean was a life-long member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She retired from Camp International after working many years in the shipping department. She loved reading, gardening, walking her pup, but most of all being with her family.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, William "Bill" Rumler; brother, Duane; and grandson, Devin. She is survived by children, Carol (Ben) Hammond, Mary Rumler, Patricia (Bud) Lange, John (Joyce) Rumler, Steve (Cathy) Rumler, Susan (Lonnie) Chester, and Chris (Tammie Hudson) Rumler; grandchildren, Laura Jean, Matthew Joel Hammond (Nicole), Jennifer Lyn Friedlein (Ed), Tara Ann McCulley (Mark), Donald (Heather) Colliau, Michael Colliau, Abbie Novitsch, Andrea Rumler, and Nathan Rumler; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Zoe, Danielle, Tayden, Nixon, Sky, Adam, Aaron, and Marcus; one sister in law, Jeanne Rumler; brother-in-law, James Rumler; and uncle, Robert Uphouse.
Our mother, who now lays in eternal rest, will live on in our hearts. Friends will remember fondly her kind, loving nature and joyful spirit.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Tim Nelson officiating. Private interment will be held at Roseland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 28 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary Service taking place at 5:00 PM and at the Church on Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:00 AM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
