Kirk (Kent, Logue), Barbara Jane
Of Mirror Lake, passed away under the loving care of her family and Henry Ford Hospice on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her second husband, John Logue (since 2013); children, Michael (Kris) Kirk and Kim (Dan) Schafer; granddaughter, Autumn Kirk; sisters, Shirley (Richard) Kuhl and Nancy Townsend; three step-daughters, Brenda (Doug) Konieczki, Beth (Jimmy) Logue and Lori (Steve) Logue; three step-granddaughters; one step-grandson; and five step-great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her first husband James L. Kirk in 2007 (married 49 years).
Barbara was born on September 24, 1937 to Harold and Gladys Kent in Jackson, Michigan. She was very active in high school activities and joined a beading group later in life for 24 years. She was the Bunco queen and made the best potato salad ever! She was a member of Mirror Lake Euchre club for 25 years. Barbara loved to travel – taking several trips to Europe and Japan and made many road trips with John in his vintage 33 Chrysler and 58 Chevy convertible, including Route 66. Barbara wintered for many years in Englewood, Florida. She enjoyed over 35 years at Mirror Lake near Jackson.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at St. Rita Catholic Church, Clarklake at 11:00 AM with Father Bosco Padamattummal officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday, January 10 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
In lieu of sending flowers, contributions to Henry Ford Hospice or St. Rita Catholic Church would be appreciated.
