Parker, Barbara J.

of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her three children, MariAnne (Denny) McCann, Marty (Jackie) Pickett, and Jim Pickett; four grandchildren, Shayna (Thomas) Phillips, Megan (Stu) Kail, Amanda (Jake) Martin, and Ashley (Jeff) Cortner; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen Wellman and Andy Fedor; sister, Patricia Bachman; and niece, Karen Bachman.

She was executive secretary for the superintendent of Jackson Public Schools, and an appointed officer of the Jackson Public Schools board of education. She was a world traveler including, hiking in Switzerland, cross country skiing in Montana, canoeing on the Mississippi River, white water rafting in West Virginia and climbed the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. She graduated in 1953 from St. John Catholic High School. She enjoyed watching her granddaughters' sporting events and loved her family and close friends.

Barbara is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a brief Prayer Service will be held on Friday, December 28 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Entombment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

Instead of flowers contributions to St. John Catholic Church, Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
