Collins, Barbara J.

Of Jackson passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the age of 61 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle Collins and June Breen. She is survived by her brother Gary (Debbie) Collins, nephews, Ryan and Scott Collins and all of her many close dear friends. Barbara was the first female detective in Jackson County. She retired from the Jackson City Police Department in 1999. Barbara was a court officer at the 12th District Court for many years and currently employed at Allegiance Health in patient services. She was on the board of directors for Disability Connections and was a past board member for YMCA.

According to her wishes Barbara has been cremated. Barbara is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 1:00 P.M.. Rev Mathias Thelen officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Michigan Chapter Red Cross, Cascade Humane Society or Fraternal Order of Police lodge 70 would be appreciated.
