Of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 age 81 years. Survived by eight children; Kathy Mintz, Jim (Brenda Hughes) Whelan, Joe (Wendy) Whelan, John (Marlene) Whelan, Patty (Scott Richey) Aldridge, Wendy (Patrick) Maxwell, Cheryl and Keith Cerqueira. 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her beloved pet, Buddy. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Antonio, daughter Barbara Kay Whelan and grandson John R. Whelan III.
She retired from Pittsburgh Forging after many years of service. She was an avid bingo and euchre player and loved the Detroit Tigers.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Saturday at 12 Noon with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions to the Cascades Humane Society would be appreciated.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a Vigil Service at 7 PM. The family will also receive friends at Queen's Church on Saturday from 11:30 to 12 Noon.
