Lubahn, Arthur Fredrick Jr.
Of Jackson, passed away on his birthday on Friday, June 24, 2011, surrounded by his family, at the age of 91 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy Lela Lubahn; three children, Thomas Arthur (Shirley) Lubahn, Linda Lee (Ron) Russell, Louann Mary (Scot) Gazlay; grandchildren, Daniel Lubahn, Christy (Tim) Edinger, Brian (Bre) Russell, Jessica (Josh) Holter, Shannah (Adam Briggs) Gazlay; great grandchildren, Jade Edinger, Brennan Edinger, Boyd Fuller, Macy Edinger, Tristen Russell, Wyatt Edinger, Baby Russell; nephews, Bill (Betti) Shellberg, Dennis Whipple and extended family, Kathy Crouch Baker. Art was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Agnes Marie; parents and two brothers.
Art was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge #156, member of the American Legion Post #324 and was a member of the Oldtimers Baseball Club. He was a sheet metal worker for over 40 years, was an active member of Brookside United Methodist Church. Art was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, golf and enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events and witnessed his son Tom's 300 game in bowling.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Brookside United Methodist Church with Pastor Chad Parmalle officiating. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Lubahn is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and at Brookside United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter would be appreciated.
The family would especially like to thank Pastor Chad Parmalle, Carelink of Jackson, Ridgecrest Care Center and Allegiance Health for the care and compassion shown to their husband and father.
