Neuenfeldt (Lee), Artha Mae
of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at home at the age of 79 years.
She was born September 3, 1933, to the late Arthur and Doris Lee, and grew up on the family farm near Bangor, MI. Artha was married for 35 years to her devoted husband, Richard, who survives. She also leaves behind her father in law Richard G., six brothers and sisters: Roscoe (Sylvia) Lee, Ken (Jean) Lee, Phil (Jan) Lee, Cindy (Dick) Robertson, Nancy (Joe) Capps, and Dave Lee, as well as 15 nephews and nieces and their spouses and children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul and sisters in law, Rachel, Mary and Shirley Ann.

An accomplished piano and organ player, Artha's performances graced family and church events. She was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, where she majored in education and music. She received a MA in Education from Western Michigan University, and was a teacher in several southwest Michigan elementary schools. Artha was a polio survivor, and worked diligently to maintain her health and mobility throughout her life. Her spirit and determination , as well as her music, will be missed.

The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 3 at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Father Timothy MacDonald will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a Vigil Service at 7 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Monday from 10 to 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Queen's Church for Masses or to the Center for Women Pregnancy Counseling Services would be appreciated.
