Flintoft, Ardith M. "Ardie"
went home to be with her dearest friend, Jesus, on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the age of 93 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harold. Left her four children who were her greatest treasures & gift from God; Jeannie (Jerry) Dolson, Cynthia (Lee) Reeve, Stephen Flintoft, Michael (Karen) Flintoft. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Jimmy, Jina, Jacqueline, John Paul, Joseph, Jacob, Todd, Chad, Krissi, Beth, Corinne, Tim, Angie, Warren, Kasey and Kayla. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Brien and daughter-in-law, Shirley Flintoft. Ardith is also survived by 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Saylor and many nieces and nephews.
Ardith worked as a cosmetologist at Jacobsons for many years and owned Ardith Hair Fashions for 30 years. She was a president of the Jackson Hairdressers Association, member of the Michigan Hair Fashion Association, National Hairdressers Association, Cosmetologist Hall of Fame, Detroit. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she served on the Parish Council, was a Spiritual Director, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of St. John Altar Society, Third Order of St. Francis and was active in the home scripture group & bible study. Special thanks to Pam and the Bethany House staff for all their love and support for Ardie.
Mrs. Flintoft is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Father James Shaver will be the celebrant at the funeral Mass. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday from 2–4 and 6–8 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.
