It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our Dad, on Monday April 6, 2020.   We know he is now in the loving arms of his Father in Heaven. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

After graduating from Northwest High School in 1982, Tony served 5 years in the United States Army Reserves.  He found his passion for big rigs during Diesel Mechanics training at Fort Knox in Kentucky and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  He proudly turned that into a 30-year, safety-focused career in the trucking industry with zero incidents.  He was currently employed by Phillips Farm & Service in Clark Lake, Michigan. He loved working for them. They have shared their appreciation of his experience, dedication to the business, and sense of humor.

Outside of work, he loved to smoke ribs.  When he wasn't feeding friends, he was volunteering as a meal delivery driver for the "We Can Make a Difference" program. Tony enjoyed the Detroit Tigers. Nothing beat taking his sons to watch the Tigers play from Kaline's Corner. He had a love/hate relationship with the Detroit Lions, but a Thanksgiving game with his sons became an annual tradition. Tony will be most remembered for his contagious laugh, sense of humor, and uncanny inability to stay awake for an entire movie. If he did, you knew the movie was a winner.

Above all Tony thought the world of his three sons. Although Tony was a man of few words, he never hesitated to tell anyone about his sons. He was so very proud of them. Of Joshua graduating college and then pursuing his passion of being a Chef. Tony was excited about Josh and Kyley's upcoming impending nuptials. Jordan graduating from CMU recently and landing a job as a Mortgage Underwriter for a fantastic company before graduation even happened. Now preparing for his first place of his own. And Jonah in College at the Culinary Institute of Michigan in Port Huron, Michigan. Learning the craft of a Baking & Pastry Chef. With Tony having quite the sweet tooth he was always on standby for the task of taste testing. He was so proud that his youngest would be graduating in the Spring as well. All three of his sons graduating college made him so very proud. He was also proud that all three of his sons attend church regularly, together, at Westwind's where they have grown up. Faith was very important to him. Tony would never have claimed to be a perfect father, but he loved his "Fella's" with his whole heart. He always said it was the one thing in life that he got right. They and the men they are becoming are his proudest accomplishment.

Tony was a faithful reader of the obituaries. He would always say, that if he wasn't in the obituary, it was a good day.  We can say with great confidence that where he is now, it is always a perfect day.

Tony is survived by his sons, Joshua, Jordan, and Jonah Rigelman and future daughter-in-law Kyley Warfield; special friend and companion Barbara Evans; sister Shelia (Brian) Reisinger, and brothers Randy (Diana) and Michael (Amy) Rigelman; stepmother Rhonda Rigelman; Stepsisters Michelle (Danny) Herr and Rachelle Furhman. Several nieces and nephews that had a special place in his heart; former wife Lisa (Metcalf) Rigelman; and faithful Australian Shepard Levi.

A Celebration of Tony's life will be held at the Heritage Park Events Center, 105 Fairview Street in Hanover on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to " We Can Make A Difference " , 224 W. Wilkins Street, Jackson, Michigan, 49203. We would like to thank you all for your love and support during this difficult time.
