Brietzke (Wrozek), Andrea Kathleen
She was born on November 27, 1952 and passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease at the age of 62 years. Fittingly, the sweetest lady passed away on Sweetest Day.
Andrea (Bigge) was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan. She attended Lumen Christi High School, class of 1970, before graduating from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education. Andrea was a passionate educator for nearly 20 years, focusing on young children with special needs, before retiring in 2008.
Bigge had many passions and interests, touching people in a number of ways, including: traveling, singing and dancing, while instilling music in her family. She loved Michigan Wolverine Football and Basketball. Long-time season ticket holder of Wolverine football while also attending numerous basketball games, she traveled to Pasadena with her husband and son to watch the Wolverines win the Granddaddy of them all, where they won the 1997
National Championship. Bigge thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her daughters, particularly shopping and attending rock concerts with them, where strong motherly/sisterly bonds coexisted. Andrea was involved with numerous social activities, including: church circle group, Amaranth Club, bowling league, card club, and many others, while surrounding herself with many special people. She loved caring for her pets, including her dog "Ya Ya" and many cats (Ronnie, Eddie, Callie, Keiko, and Lucy).
Andrea was preceded in death by her father Andrew (Wrozek) and mother Lucille; brother, baby Tommy; 2 brothers-in-law, Daniel Sowers and John Karl Bush. She's survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Richard. Bigge was the loving mother of three children, Alison (Matt Resor), Kristen (Andy Cordell), and Justin (K.C. Miller). Grandma Bigge had 5 Grandchildren: Braeden (Resor), Zander (Resor), Dylan (Cordell), Mattison (Resor) and Charlie Ann (Brietzke). Andrea is also survived by 7 siblings she loved dearly: Sharon Sowers, Barbara (John) Myers, Fr. Timothy Wrozek, Linda (Norris) Hornbeck, Randy (Cindy) Wrozek, Mark Wrozek, and Kimberly (Joseph) Pycz. Aunt Andrea had numerous nephews, nieces, and Godchildren whom were special to her. Andrea was a friend to many, including her long-time friends, John and Karen Richter.
