Metzger, (Wattson) Alice M.
Of Jackson, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 under the loving care of her family and the staff of Allegiance Hospice at the age of 84 years. Alice is survived by three children; Michael (Denise) Metzger, Jean (Craig) Burbo, and Martin (Jolinda) Metzger. Son in law, Jose' Linde. Grandchildren; Megan, Lauren, Jillian, Emily, Tally, Ariel, Sean, Stephanie, Patrick, Ryan and Kevin. Great grandchildren; Benjamin, Dominic, Matilda, Jackson, Fiona, Emma and Landon. Sisters and brother; Florence Wattson, James (Beverly) Wattson and Patricia (H.C.) Nelson, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert L. Metzger, two sons William and Robert W. Metzger, daughter Patricia Linde, brothers and sisters; Kathleen, William, Betty, Edith and Charles.
Alice, who graduated from Marygrove College in 1951, enjoyed teaching and mentoring elementary school students and was a longtime member of St. John's Catholic Church. Mrs. Metzger is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Father James Shaver will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Private Interment St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions to St. John's Church or Allegiance Hospice would be appreciated.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 PM. Rosary Friday 6 PM.
