Hoch (Church), Alice May
Passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at the age of 93. She was born to Anna M. (Franz) Church & Harry A. Church. Before she was married, Alice worked at Gilbert's Chocolates in Jackson, Michigan with her best friend, Jeannie (Taylor) Kimball. On September 9, 1950 she married Ralph B. Hoch in Jackson. She then stayed home to raise their family. Alice and Ralph celebrated 70 years of marriage in September.
She enjoyed family time, dinners out with her kids and nieces and nephew, and playing cards. Alice also dearly loved the many family dogs over the years. Alice will be remembered for her determination and feisty attitude. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harry E. Church; sister, Ruth Church; sister-in-law, Ada Church; and daughter-in-law, Candice Hoch. She is survived by husband of 70 years, Ralph; son, Dan (Kellie); daughters, Cindy (Ron) Enger, Sue Hoch, Sharon Hoch, and Patty Hoch-Melluish (Jim); nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Due to Covid restrictions a private service was held at Desnoyer Funeral Home, Jackson, Michigan.
Contributions in Alice's memory may be made to the Cascades Humane Society.
