Borkowski, Alexander Joseph
86, of Jackson, Michigan passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, with his family by his side. Alex is survived by his wife Chris; daughters, Vicki (Mike) James and Cindy Borkowski; son, Gregg (Brenda) Borkowski; his grandchildren, Kylie James, Taylor Borkowski, Brooke James and Brock Borkowski; grand dogs Zoey and Sophie; and great grand dogs Penny and Mack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Borkowski and Eva (Lozowsky) Herman; son, Jeffrey; and brother, Ronald Borkowski.
He was born on November 10, 1937 in Jackson, Michigan. Alex graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1955. He joined the Air Force immediately after, where he served for 5 years and achieved a rank of Staff Sergeant. He went on to work at Sparton Electronics, WA Foote Hospital, Chrysler Corporation, Airmaster Fan, Photo Marketing Assoc Intl, and he baked buns for the International Dog House. Alex loved to play cards, bowl, golf, read cowboy books and was a die-hard Detroit Tigers and Lions Fan. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
On June 3, 1961, Alex married Christine Molotkiewicz (Molton) and spent 62 years married to the love of his life.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Jackson with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. A private inurnment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Queen's Church on Wednesday, May 15 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Jackson.
